Job Description

Australia Zoo is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused Customer Service Attendants (Retail) to join our Retail team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public, have strong communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Retail Customer Service Attendants play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing product advice, handling transactions, and maintaining clean, well-presented retail spaces throughout the Zoo.

Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Attendant (Retail), your responsibilities include:

  • Welcome and greet customers, assisting patrons with enquiries
  • Provide a high level of customer service to guests throughout retail stores and other Zoo locations
  • Operate point-of-sale systems, including cash and credit transactions
  • Accurately provide change, receipts, and process refunds with approval
  • Balance cash registers and complete end-of-shift procedures
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented retail environment
  • Stock shelves and ensure accurate merchandising displays
  • Conduct stock counts and report discrepancies to supervisors
  • Describe product features and benefits clearly to customers
  • Assist with crowd control and customer movement during shows and events
  • Adhere to daily run sheets, department procedures, and performance indicators
  • Receive, store, and manage large stock deliveries
  • Stay informed about promotions, staff communications, and store updates
  • Attend meetings as required by supervisors or Retail Management
