Job Description

Allcan Holdings (AHL) Ltd. is seeking experienced and reliable Long Haul Truck Drivers to join its growing transportation team. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for drivers who enjoy long-distance driving, international routes, and working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Drivers will be responsible for transporting goods safely across regional, national, and international routes while ensuring accurate documentation, vehicle safety, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, your responsibilities include:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Drive lighter and special-purpose trucks when required
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Inspect tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods in compliance with safety regulations
  • Record cargo details, distance travelled, fuel consumption, and hours of service
  • Complete driver logbooks, inspection reports, and trip reports
  • Prepare and manage bills of lading and trans-border documentation
  • Receive and make payments for goods when required
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues

Requirements

The employer has outlined the following essential criteria:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Valid Class 1 or Class A Driver’s License
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Valid passport
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Willingness to relocate (relocation costs covered by employer)
  • Willing to travel long-haul, overnight, and internationally
  • Experience operating GPS and navigation systems
  • Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
  • Physically fit for demanding work conditions
