Job Description

Cubbie Ag is seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Hand to join its dedicated agricultural team in Dirranbandi, Western Queensland. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about farming, machinery operation, and contributing to the success of a large-scale cotton and dryland farming operation.

You will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the farm, supporting crop production, machinery operation, and maintenance activities while working closely with the Farm Manager and wider team.

Responsibilities

As a Farm Hand, your key duties will include:

Assisting with planting, harvesting, and general crop maintenance
Operating and performing basic maintenance on farm machinery, including tractors, planting, and tillage equipment
Carrying out daily work programs as directed by the Farm Manager
Maintaining farm roads and fields using drag buckets
Applying chemicals via boom, hand spraying, and camera spraying methods
Ensuring all safety procedures and environmental regulations are followed
Participating in toolbox talks and ongoing training sessions
Supporting efficient and smooth farm operations across the property

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Chemical handling certification (preferred but not essential)
Willingness to obtain required licences or certifications

Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a Farm Hand or in a similar agricultural role
Practical knowledge of farm machinery operation and maintenance (preferred)
Experience with GPS guidance systems (Case and John Deere advantageous)
Irrigation and/or dryland cropping experience (preferred but not required)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions

Licences

Valid manual driver’s licence (required)
