Key Responsibilities
This role is essential in ensuring efficient herd management and daily farm operations.
- Manage day-to-day care of dairy cattle
- Oversee milking operations and maintain hygiene standards
- Monitor animal health and arrange treatment when needed
- Implement feeding plans and pasture allocation
- Assist with calving, mating, and herd reproduction
- Maintain accurate herd and production records
- Monitor farm equipment and report maintenance needs
- Supervise and support farm assistants
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare and safety standards
- Assist with general farm duties (fencing, cleaning, maintenance)
Requirements
To qualify for this position, you should have:

- English (required)
Education
- Relevant qualification (NZQCF Level 4 or higher) OR equivalent experience
Experience
- At least 2 years of dairy farming or livestock experience
Additional Requirements
- Strong knowledge of herd management and farm operations
- Good understanding of animal health and milking procedures
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and animal welfare
- Driver licence (preferred)
